Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the Promotion Plan for Intellectual Property in 2014 (hereinafter as the “Plan”).
The Plan focuses on upgrading industrial transformation, implementing industrial innovation, advancing intellectual property management system in enterprises and promoting IP risk prevention and pre-warning mechanism in key industrial areas.
According to the Plan, MIIT will carry out IP risk assessment and pre-warning project and IP utilization training project in industries in 2014. IP risk assessment and pre-warning project research will be conducted on significant issues in industrial transformation upgrading, the development of strategic emerging industries and patent intensive industries, and a mechanism will be set up to cope with IP issues affecting the development of industry.
