Statistics show that Chinese patent pledge reached 25.4 billion RMB in 2013, an increase of 80% compared to that of the year 2012. The total patent pledge has amounted to 63.8 billion RMB since 2008 when the patent pledge pilot program was launched, with an annual growth of 112%. It’s reported that the patent pledge pilot program has been conducted in 29 regions nationwide.
In addition, 530 companies and enterprises paid for insurance of 1,855 patents with a total premium amount of 64.38 million RMB. Since 2012 patent insurance pilot projects were carried out in 25 regions. Specific measures have been taken in 20 regions to promote the project, such as insurance subsidies, purchase of intermediary services, preferential policies and interest rates adaptation, etc.
