    China received more than one million copyright registrations in 2013

    Recently, statistics from the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC) showed that, the number of copyright registrations passed one million in 2013. Of all the registrations, 845,064 were registrations for works, an increase of 22.89% compared to that of 2012, and 164,349 were software registrations, an increase of 18.04%.

    According to the statistics, 428,701 registrations put Beijing in the top position in China in terms of copyright registrations. Among ranking positions is also Shanghai, Chongqing, Jiangsu. 

    With regard to the types of registrations, most were photographic works (accounted for 51.37% of the total). Other works are written works, musical and cinematographic and graphic works.

    Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang ranked the top five for registrations of software. 

    With regard to the copyright pledge registration in 2013, 244 pledges relating to 1,041 works and soft wares were registered for a total loan of over 3.1 billion RMB.
