In the year of 2013, the enforcement by IP administrative agencies across China made a breakthrough in capability improvement, mechanism innovation and efficiency of handling cases. Strong protection of IP further encouraged innovation.
In 2013 a series of IP enforcement mechanism was established or improved, including IP enforcement reporting system and IP infringement complaint and assistance platform. The hotline of “12330” for IPR protection became fully accessible to the public. Other mechanism such as patent disputes handling, IP enforcement coordination and infringement determination consultation have taken into shape, and the IP protection in e-commerce and social creditability in IP protection were in full construction.
The statistics show that in 2013, a total of 16,227 cases of patent administrative enforcement were handled in China, an increase of 79.8% compared to the same period of 2012, among which 5056 were relating to patent disputes, an increase of 101.5%.
