    Administrative penalty on IP infringement cases will be disclosed to the public

    Recently, it was approved by the State Council that information relating to administrative penalties for IP infringement should be disclosed to the public.

    According to the authority, it’s required that the administrative organizations of law enforcement should disclose the information of counterfeit or infringement cases within certain period from the date of penalty decision, except when business secret and personal privacy are involved. The information disclosed to the public includes the major facts of violations, types of punishment, basis of penalty as well as penalty decisions. 

    It is learnt that these information is considered an important part of government disclosure of information. Any administrations or individuals who fail to publish or update such information in time or who illegally charge fees for the disclosure of the information will be punished.
