Authorized Software Used in 90% Municipal Governments in China

    11/18/2013|EVENTS

Recently, a conference on Authorized Software Use in Chinese Governments was held in Beijing. According to the meeting, the examination and rectification at central and provincial level had been accomplished in May, 2011 and June, 2012 respectively. As of the end of August this year, authorized software used in 89.25% of the municipal governments and 70.26% of the county governments had been finished.

According to the official from the National Copyright Administration of China, it was a long-term task to use authorized software and the key was to improve the long-term mechanism of software legalization.

Up to now, provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Shandong, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Ningxia had completed the  examination and rectification at municipal and county level. It is required that governments at all level should implement the Management of Legitimate Software Use in Government Agencies and that a specific and long-term working mechanism should be built for software legalization.
