Recently, the WIPO-SIPO jointly issued gold awards to 20 Chinese Patents for their significant contribution of the Chinese economy.
About 800 patents were recommended by national associations, government agencies and local relevant authorities. After evaluation by SIPO and WIPO, 25 patents were issued gold awards including 20 inventions and 5 industrial designs. It’s reported that the 25 awarded patents created economic value of 109.5 billion RMB in total with net benefit of 37.1 billion RMB by the end of 2012. In addition, 336 patents received Awards of Excellence among which 53 were industrial designs.
The evaluation of awards for Chinese patents is said to be of transparent and authoritative. It plays an important role in promoting the qualities of patents and the development of intellectual property. It also has the effect of positive guidance and acted as a model examples.
