Recently, LED Patent Alliance was established in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. This is the first patent alliance in Dongguan City. 13 local LED companies signed to join the Alliance.
The establishment of the Alliance will represent the members in safeguarding their IP rights and integrating resources of the whole industry to seek for more benefits for the member companies..
Specific tasks are defined on how to provide patent protection for members such as establishing patent database, patent navigation system, patent pre-warning mechanism. Cooperation will be strengthened in jointly applying for patent applications or purchasing patents. Patents in the alliance are freely licensed.
It is also said that a LED Patent Pool in Dongguan will be set up to integrate all patent resources of member companies. Members can use these patents by cross-licensing.
