    Chinese Intellectual Property Development Report 2012 released

    Recently, the Intellectual Property Development Research Center under SIPO in Beijing published “Chinese Intellectual Property Development Report 2012”. This is the first comprehensive evaluation report which reflects the regional development level of China.

    According to the report, in 2012 the top 10 provinces in IP development were Guangdong, Shanghai, Beijing, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Fujian, Hubei, Anhui and Sichuan. With regards to the average annual growth rate of IP development from 2007-2012, the top 10 provinces were Jiangsu, Hubei, Anhui, Shanxi, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Shanghai, Sichuan and Henan. The rate shows a significant difference among different regions, higher in eastern and central region, lower in western regions.

    It is learned that the Chinese Intellectual Property Development Report will be published every year from 2013. The report aims to establish a scientific evaluation system with regard to China's patent, trademark, copyright and other intellectual property development status.
