Recently, the Zhongguancun Tribunal under Haidian District People’s Court was established. The establishment of the tribunal is to serve high-tech enterprises in Zhongguancun area and deal with intellectual property lawsuits in Zhongguancun Science Park.
In recent years, the amount of intellectual property lawsuits received by Haidian District People’s Court has increased at a rate of 20 percent each year. Hence, the Zhongguancun Tribunal is to better serve the industries in the park, further increase efficiency and promote IP protection.
The total number of the staff in the new tribunal is eighteen, and all the judges and the assistants have master's degree or above in the relevant legal area. The tribunal will hear cases of personal rights violations via media and Internet, business franchise lawsuits and other IP- related cases. Besides, the tribunals will adopt the "3-in-1"mode combining administrative, civil and criminal IP cases.
