According to the Office of the Inter-Ministerial Joint Meeting for the implementation of the National Intellectual Property Strategy, in 2012, China's IP pledge for financing was further extended, and the yearly financing of patent, trademark and copyright reached 14.1 billion Renminbi yuan, 21.46 billion Renminbi yuan and 2.751 billion Renminbi yuan separately. With the establishment of 20 IP financing service platforms, it is expected that the financing amount would be increased in the year of 2013.
In 2012, SIPO launched IP financing pilots in 28 regions across the country. A financing service alliance was established to strengthen the connection between patented projects of companies and financial institutes in 10 provinces, 5 cities and 8 high-tech parks.
The statistics also show that, from 2008 to 2012, 1,869 trademarks were pledged to get a loan of 66.46 billion Renminbi yuan, of which 21.46 billion Renminbi yuan were secured in 2012. With regard to copyright registration, in 2012, 146 copyrights covering 773 software and works were pledged and a loan of 2.751 billion Renminbi yuan was provided.
