It is learned that the State Intellectual Property Office(SIPO) will expand its patent analysis to cover 12 new sectors in 2013. The 12 sectors added this year are industrial robots, increasing material manufacturing, gas turbines, LED lighting, satellite positioning and navigation, special glass, batteries, fluorine chemicals, basic chemical drugs, antibody drugs, browser, and Internet of Things.
As a non-profit program that SIPO initiated in 2010, the Patent Analysis and Popularization Program aims to popularize patent analysis and promote the development of new and high technology industries across the country.
According to statistics, as of 2013, the scope of the patent analysis will be expanded to cover a total of 38 sectors. And the total number of sectors will be increased to 50 by 2015. To date, 16 reports on different industries have been published covering agricultural machinery, vehicle safety, edible oils and fat. The report is to provide a model for industrial patent analysis and help Chinese companies improve their IP management.
