    Working Plan on Intellectual Property for Strategic Emerging Industries formulated

    Recently, the Working Plan on Intellectual Property Right for Strategic Emerging Industry in 2013(hereinafter as the Plan) has been jointly made by ten government agencies, including Sate Intellectual Property Office, the Development and Reform Commission, the Education Department, the Science and Technology Department, the Industry and Information Technology Commission, the Finance Department, the Department of Commerce, the Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Copyright Office, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

    8 key tasks were formulated under the plan: strengthening IP analysis and appraisal work; improving IP management capability; enhancing innovation system construction; promoting IP commercialization and utilization; improving the IP service capability; advancing the construction of IP information platform; optimizing the environment for IP development; and strengthening foreign-related IP protection. 50 specific measures were identified in accordance with the Plan.

    The plan is to comply with and further clarify the Opinions on Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Strategic Emerging Industries issued in April 2012 by the State Council.
