Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office released the statistics regarding the enforcement in 2012 by the IP offices across the country. According to the statistics, a total of 9,022 patent cases were handled, twice as much as the figure in 2011, of which 6,512 relate to passing-off of patents, an increase of 282% over the previous year and 2,510 relate to patent disputes, up 70% as compared with the year 2011. Out of 2,510 patent disputes, 2,232 were related to patent infringement, an increase of 77.5% and 278 were related to other types of dispute, a rise of 929.6% as compared with the previous year.
