Recently, the national working conference on Chinese patent application and examination was held in Beijing. The conference focused on the patent application and examination. According to the higher ranking official from SIPO, patent application and examination are considered the basis of patent work and are important for implementation of national IP strategy.
It was required that patent quality should be the top priority to create “China Patent” brand through seamless coordination and cooperation. Also at the conference, participants discussed the issues such as improvement of quality and efficiency of patent examination; increase of the professional competence of Chinese patent agencies; circuit court under Patent Reexamination Board for patent cases; priority examination of applications for inventions; electronic patent examination; Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) program, etc.
Present at the conference were people from examination department, local IP offices, enterprises and representatives from IP agencies.
