Recently, nine governmental departments including the State Intellectual Property Office, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly printed and distributed the Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Cultivation and Development of Intellectual Property Service Industry (the “Opinions”).
According to the Opinions, the main areas of the IP service industry include IP prosecution service, legal service, information service, consulting service, commercial service and training. The main tasks under the opinions are: consolidating the management of IP service industry, improving the legal environment for IP services, promoting the role of IP services in economy, developing model of IP services, and accelerating the cultivation of talents in IP service industry.
It is learnt that this Opinions is China's first IP service industry guidance. By 2020, the IP service sector will become one of the most dynamic one in high-tech service industries in China.
