Recently, Henan Provincial Government and the State Intellectual Property Office （SIPO） of the PRC jointly signed a Joint Agreement on Establishing Patent Examination Cooperation of SIPO in Henan(hereinafter refers to as Henan Center) to meet the increasing needs of patent applications in Henan province.
The establishment of the Henan Center aims to promote the local IP development, enhance the self-innovation capability in Henan Province. The operation of the Center will be a new approach between SIPO and provincial government to share patent information resource, and jointly promote the economic development of the whole province.
Henan Center is to be located in Zhengdong New Area of Zhengzhou City. There will a team of about 2000 patent examiners and administrative staff members by the end of 2017, capable of examining about 110,000 patent applications annually.
