It is learned from the recently-held conference by the National Leading Group on Fighting against IPR infringement and manufacturing and distributing Counterfeit and inferior commodities that more arrangement are to be made to fight against the IPR infringement and promote the legal use of software by government.

According to the conference, different regions and departments at all levels put an emphasis on the key products and areas related to people’s daily lives. Progress had been made since the beginning of 2012 in the mechanism construction between administrative and criminal enforcement. A series of big and important cases had been investigated and settled. Revision of relevant laws and regulations were actively pushed forward and long-term mechanism against infringement and counterfeit activities was also improved. The use of legitimate software by government at provincial-level was accomplished.

The conference discussed the next-stage focus against the counterfeit and inferior medicine, traditional Chinese medical materials, medical devices, mandatory certified products, fertilizer, pesticide and seeds. Moreover, Chinese authorities would continue to combat trademark infringement and counterfeit activities, particularly the act of imitating the special names, package and decoration of famous commodities, copyright and patent infringement as well as the sales of counterfeit acts on the Internet. Further efforts will be made in the legitimate use of software by governments at city and county-level as well as the central enterprises and state-owned financial agencies.
