It is learnt from the second China-US International Cooperation Forum on IPR in Washington DC that China and US are both satisfied with the achievement made in the IP field. Both are aware of the new challenges in the IP field and cooperation based on mutual trust, understanding and benefit can lead to a win-win situation.
It is all known that China has established a profound legal framework and law enforcement mechanism in dealing with IP protection. And the government is deepening and broadening its work in the IP field. In 2010, the central government launched a 10-month-long campaign across the country to crack down on manufacturing and selling of fake and shoddy goods. And in 2011, the central government set up a national leading group led by Vice Premier to deal with IP infringement. All these efforts have achieved remarkable results.
Both countries have signed a lot of Memorandums of Understanding in IP fields. USPTO even set up offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Both sides realized that IP is the key issue for the two countries and both countries know that innovation is important for the market in the 21st century. And IP is extremely important for such innovation. In order to further protection the IP and extend the cooperation in IP, both sides believe the exchanges between China and the US at both government and private levels will help strengthen IPR protection and benefit businesses in both countries.
