In June, the WIPO Diplomatic Conference on the Protection of Audiovisual Performances was concluded in Beijing. As a result of the conference, "Beijing Treaty" was signed, an indication of full protection of IP for audiovisual performers.
The signing of "Beijing Treaty" will protect the copyrights of performers from unauthorized use of their performances in audiovisual media, such as television, film and video, and will also grant performers and actors the right to share with producers the benefits gained from the use and distribution of their works.
The finalization of the Beijing Treaty will greatly boost international cooperation on the protection of intellectual property rights and further advance the development of China's IPR protection.
