The China’s Alliance for Safeguarding Patent Rights was officially founded in Beijing recently. This alliance is an organization formed voluntarily by inventors, legal professionals, and Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The establishment of the alliance was a result of efforts by inventors and patentees in protecting their patent rights. The inventors and patentees had been faced with some reasons that the patent was not efficiently protected, or the enforcement agencies failed their responsibilities. Further it has been a high cost in enforcing the patent.
Under the promotion of the inventors, legal professional and SMEs, the alliance will target at protection of the legal rights of patentees or patent owners, fight against the companies which obtain illegal profit through infringement. Assistance includes legal aid and technical help. Media will also be contacted for assistance against the infringement. Irregular meeting mechanism will be set up to have two meetings within the alliance to discuss how to better protect patent right, and set up communicating channel to coordinate with government departments.
