    Beijing received an increasing number of IP cases in 2011

    Recently, some statistics were released at a IP trial workshop in Beijing. According to the statistics, the IP tribunals at all levels of  Beijing people's courts received a total of 9,653 IP cases in 2011  as first instance cases, an increase of 8.2% as compared with 2010. 7,530 were first-instance civil cases, a growth of  14.9%; 2,303 were administrative cases, down 8.9%. With regard to second instance cases,  the  Intermediate people’s courts and Higher people’s court  received a total of 2,387 cases and concluded 2,343 cases. Of all the 2,387 second-instance cases, 1,098 were  civil cases, a decrease of  2.4%, and 1,289 were  administrative cases, an increase of 24.2%. The statistics also show that 7 judges had an annual conclusion of 200 cases in 2011.
