According to the Copyright Administration under General Administration of Press and Publication, , all provincial-level governments across China will use authorized software by the end of June, 2012. Governments at the county level will complete the task by the end of 2013. It is learned that the use of software was already legitimate in central government agencies by the end of May 2011.
Currently, some governments at the provincial level already completed the work of using legal software, for example, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangxi, Zhejiang.
In addition, efforts were done to promote the use of legitimate software by enterprises, state-owned companies, large banks, institutions and insurance companies. Statistics show that genuine software had been installed in 15,256 companies by the end of December 2011.
As of now, governments at all levels have spent a total of 1.06 billion Renminbi yuan for 1,317,300 sets of genuine software purchases.
