According to a meeting of administrations for industry and commerce across China the Chinese Trademark Office has improved trademark examination efficiency and examination pendency for trademark applications has been shortened to 10 months. The duration for opposition and dispute cases dropped within 18 months.
In order to shorten the pendency of trademark applications, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) applied a series of measures in 2008. By the end of the year 2010, the pending period for trademark examination was shortened to one year and the backlog problem was greatly improved. In 2011, SAIC further improved the efficiency and quality of trademark examination by improving trademark examination system and enhancing online application work.
