Recently, Patent Examination Coordination Center (Beijing Center) under State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) was opened in Beijing so as to meet the increasing needs of patent applications and examinations in China.
The establishment of the patent examination coordination center is a new approach by SIPO to enhance the self-innovation capability, improve the quality and efficiency of patent examination, and promote the IP and economic development of the whole country.
Up to now, there are 3 center established in order to share the examination of increasing patent applications. The other 2 are located in Guangdong province and Jiangsu Province. These centers will assist the SIPO in accelerating patent examination and therefore shorten the pending period of patent application.
