The State Council recently made an arrangement to strengthen IPR protection and promote the development of next-generation Internet industry.
According to the arrangement, the following key tasks are clarified for the development of next-generation Internet industry in China: 1.strengthening resource sharing, establishing the next-generation national information infrastructure and promoting internet system upgrading and reconstruction. 2. focusing on the research and development of chips, equipment, software and systems of the next generation Internet. 3. speeding up the industrialization of the next-generation Internet, promoting new business model development and online applications, establishing a business platform featuring Internet Protocol Version 6 and supporting the development of Internet of logistics, cloud computing and mobile Internet. 4. enhancing network and information security, strengthening the regulation and administration of network address and domain name system and fully improving the security and credibility of the next-generation Internet. 5. improving technology and industry standards and strengthening the research of core technologies.
The meeting also outlines the major goals of China's next-generation Internet. First, small-scale internet commercial pilot use will be tried on the basis of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) by the end of 2013. work into and form a mature business model Second, large-scale commercial use and deployment will be achieved by 2014 and 2015.
