In order to adapt to the rapid development of China’s IP sector and support the efficient advancement of national IP strategy, recently, the national research base for IPR strategy implementation was recently established at Tongji University, Shanghai City.
The main tasks of the base are IP strategy research, policy study, experimental study, information provision and other aspects related to IP strategy. Besides, the research base will also study the trends of international intellectual property rights and propose valuable suggestions for decision-making.
China first released the Outline of IPR Strategy in 2008. The growing number of challenges in IP sector urgently requires SIPO to strengthen its research on IP strategy. And the university should integrate IP research resources and intensify the study of international developments to help implement the national IP strategy.
In addition to Shanghai, SIPO has already founded 2 other research bases in Wuhan and Beijing..
