The "Sword" campaign was organized in November 2010 in accordance with the arrangement of the State Council to combat IPR infringements and counterfeit activities. Till now, public security organs have investigated 28 thousand IPR infringement cases, destroyed 22 thousand sites of manufacturing and distributing inferior goods and more than 6.7 thousand gangs were handled. .The total value of the products confiscated were over 18 billion Renminbi yuan.
The destruction is actually the second one done by the public security organs since the fight against IP infringement. It is noted that such momentum shall be maintained in order to enhance the awareness of the public in identifying the fake and counterfeit products. At the same time, a long-term mechanism shall be further strengthened in the legislative and judicial areas to push the Sward campaign ahead.
The statistics show that from 2004 to 2009, public security departments in China had investigated 12 thousand IPR infringing cases with the total value exceeding 7.7 billion Renminbi yuan.
