Recently, the State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC) and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce jointly formulated the “12th Five-year Plan” for New Materials Industry, which will be soon released. Independent innovation and the development of new materials industry owning independent intellectual property are to be focused in the “12th Five-year Plan”.
According to the Plan, a special fund will be set for the new materials industry to support its development. Funding mechanism will be established to encourage more capital investment in new materials industry. The goal is to establish a large-scale and well-equipped new materials industry system with self-innovation capability and independent intellectual property by 2015.
