Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office(SIPO) and Guangdong province jointly signed an Agreement on Patent Examination Cooperation and established a Patent Examination Cooperation Center under SIPO in Guangdong(hereinafter refers to as Guangdong Center) to meet the increasing needs of patent applications in Guangdong province.
The establishment of the Guangdong Center aims to promote the local IP development, enhance the self-innovation capability in Guangdong Province. The operation of the Guangdong Center will be a new approach between SIPO and provincial government to share patent information resource, and jointly promote the economic development of the whole province.
This center became the first patent examination center outside Beijing. The Guangdong Center will conduct the similar examination under the guidance of SIPO.
