Recent statistics from the Supreme People's Court showed that, in the first half of 2011, a total of 1, 827 criminal cases relating to intellectual property were concluded by the courts at all levels across China, an increase of 6.97% as compared with the previous year. 2751 criminals were found guilty, up by 0.13%.
Of all the concluded criminal cases, 767 were related to IPR infringement and 1091 criminals were involved, 254 were relating to sale of counterfeit goods, and 786 were related to illegal business.
