The statistics show that the administrations for industry and commerce (AICs) across the country made great achievement in the special campaign against the IP infringement and sale and manufacture of counterfeit and fake products. As of June 30, 90,701 infringement cases were handled with a total value of 510 million Renminbi yuan. Of all the cases handled, 13,831 cases were related to well-known trademarks, 13,179 were related to foreign trademarks and 648 are related to geographical indications.
During the special campaign, AICs mobilized enforcement officials at all levels and had inspected 9.226 million businesses operators, 1,745 business licenses were suspended. More than 90,000 cases were docketed for further proceedings and 757 cases were transferred to judicial departments.
