According to the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAA), the use of legal software in both central and local government agencies should be guaranteed by October of 2011. It is learned that 135 central government agencies already completed the target by the end of May 2011; The local government agencies is required to complete the work of using genuine and authorized software by the end of October 2011.
Currently, some local government agencies are at the stage of negotiating for procurement. Some local government agencies already completed the work of using legal software. Other local government agencies are accelerating the work. List of these government agencies includes but not limited to Qingdao, Jinan (Shandong), Karamay (Xinjing), Huainan (Anhui), Chengdu (Sichuan), Suzhou (Jiangsu), Shanghai, Beijng, Hepei, Liaoning, Anhui, Henan and Guangdong.
Statistics show that, central government agencies and local governments at different levels have spent a total of 377.14 million Renminbi yuan in purchasing or updating operation system, office software and anti-virus software. It is clear that majority of the software are from MICROSOFT.
