According to the Higher People's Court of Guangdong Province, a total of 10029 IP cases were received by courts across the province in 2010, accounting for nearly 25% of the total numbers of IP cases in China.
The increase is partly due to the parallel suits brought by the multinational companies in addition to the administrative complaints submitted to the local administrative agencies for IP. More cases are related to the use of pirated software. It was found that some local companies in Guangdong provinces, without the authorization of the copyright owner, illegal installed and used the software owned by Microsoft.
Before the court, more cases were settled through the efforts of the judges.
