According to statistics released by Guangdong Province, the provincial administration for industry and commerce in Guangdong have investigated 7,651 cases worthy of 182.79 million RMB. This is part of the national campaign against the IP infringement and fake counterfeit products
The achievement was a result of the government’s efforts in Guangdong to have attached great importance to the special campaign. Relevant departments at all levels in the province have been called on to take actions and cooperate with each other in the special campaign.
The IP offices in the province docketed and investigated a total of 93 cases relating to patent worthy of 2.942 million Renminbi yuan. The local administrations for industry and commerce have inspected 2,992 key areas, investigated 3,888 cases, destroyed 248 sites of manufacturing and selling counterfeit and fake commodities, removed 3 business licenses, transferred major criminal cases to the public security organs. The provincial quality and supervision departments investigated 1,612 cases, destroyed 187 sites, valuing 67 million Renminbi yuan, transferred 23 cases to public security organs; the Customs have confiscated 2,058 batches of IP infringement articles, with a value of more than 12.847 million Renminbi yuan.
Meanwhile, criminal judicial departments at all levels in Guangdong Province have spent a lot of efforts in investigating major IP infringement cases. The public security organs of Guangdong launched a special campaign against IP infringement. 497 cases were docketed, 734 suspects were seized and 499 were approved for arrest.
