A recent conference was held in Beijing to promote the use of authorized and genuine software by 146 central government agencies. Participants at the conference were from the National Copyright Administration (NCA) and the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP), General Affairs Office of the State Council, General Affairs Office of the Central Government.
The conference requires that all agencies under the State Council and the Central government and the local government agencies should complete the work of using genuine and authorized software by the end of October in 2011. By February, a total of 37 agencies such as Ministry of Commerce, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, State Intellectual Property Office, already completed the work of using genuine software.
Statistics show that central government offices spent 41.43 million Renminbi yuan purchasing or updating 53,915 sets of licensed software.
The move is part of the Chinese government's efforts to promote authorized software among government agencies nationwide. NCA will start a national inspection to chech the results of using licensed softwar.
