Statistics from the Intellectual Property Tribunal under the Supreme People's Court(SPC) indicated that in the past 3 consecutive years, the number of cases relating to intellectual property rights had an annual growth of 30%, and in 2010, the growth rate was close to 40%.
To be specific, a total of 39,913 new IP cases were received and 32,748 IP cases were concluded by courts of the first instance in the first 11 months of 2010.
The SPC listed some features of the civil cases relating to IPR, which are:
1.new, difficult and influential due to the globalization and technical progress and the economic development;
2.high and complicated in terms of the technologies;
3.high in terms of the cases brought by foreign enterprises and more favorable to foreign enterprises;
4.continuously growing in terms of the number of cases reviewed by the Supreme People's Court.
