According to the 2010-Year plan for subsidizing international patent applications, a total of 102 PCT patent applications in Changsha city, Hunan province, were subsidized involving 3.33 million Renminbi yuan.
The 102 PCT applications were filed by 8 enterprises and 1 academic institution. The applications cover the technical areas such as engineering machinery, medicine machinery, new energy, metallurgy industry, etc.
The subsidization for PCT applications is to assist and encourage domestic companies to seek for international protection of their innovated technologies. For this purpose, the Ministry of Finance in 2009 issued Provisional Measures for Administration of Special Fund for Subsidizing International Applications, under which specific measures were laid down for how to obtain the subsidization.
