Recently, State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC), French Customs and French National Institute of Industrial Property held the Sino-French workshop in Beijing to discuss ways against infringement. This is the first workshop where SAIC sat together with foreign related organs in combating infringement.
The discussions were one of the tasks undertaken by both countries after the 2009 signature of Memorandum of Understanding. Other areas of cooperation under the MOU include working groups for competition, anti-counterfeiting, trademark registration and administration.
At the workshop were speakers from SAIC, French National Institute of Industrial Property, French Customs, French Post Office. Attendants were from Ministry of Information and Industry, General Administration of Customs, Beijing No.1 Intermediate People’s Court. The workshop provided a great forum to share the experience for Chinese enforcement officials to learn from France in IP protection.
