According to a recent meeting at SIPO relating to patent analysis and pre-warning, the SIPO will initiate a project of patent analysis and pre-warning in 9 technical areas including integrated circuit packaging and key equipments. A total of 6 examination departments within the SIPO shall be responsible for this year’s project.
SIPO started the project as early as 2008, the purpose of which is to promote the technical innovation and avoid the repetitive investment and patent risk in the large commercialized projects. The project can also help upgrade the research level and push the economic and scientific development in China. Of course, it can further be used as a reference for decision-making.
In order to implement the project, SIPO established an Office of Leading Group responsible for the implementation of patent analysis and patent pre-warning. Relevant documents were also published to provide guidance and regulate the project. In 2 years, SIPO has finished 15 projects for patent analysis and pre-warning covering the technical areas such as LED lighting, high-end optical preetching machine, pure electric vehicle, photovoltaik and wind power. Some already played a supporting role in helping the government make relevant policies.
