Recently, Commissioner Tian Lipu from the State Intellectual Property Office led a delegation to Tianjin and paid a visit to the local foreign enterprises such as Samsung and Epson. Members of the delegation are from the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Administration of Customs and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
During the meeting with the foreign enterprises, Commissioner Tian expresses the determination to create a more favorable environment for the foreign enterprises in protecting the IP rights. As a matter of fact, many foreign enterprises set up the R & D center in China and produced many high-qualified core technologies. Additionally they have brought into China many experience and practice in intellectual property. It was also learned that SIPO is willing to have regular communications with these enterprises and provide more valuable services so that the foreign enterprises can have a better environment for business development. During the discussions, Commissioner Tian also informed that the year of 2010 will be a year for further improvement of related laws and regulations for IP, enhancement of administrative enforcement and judicial protection, continuations of special campaigns for IP protection, education of the public in raising their IP awareness.
