    Recently, the World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR), a leading global intellectual property media, released the China PRC Trademark Rankings 2025.     In the firm rankings, NTD was named a “Highly Recommended” firm in both Non-contentious and Contentious practices. This dual recognition underscores NTD’s balanced strength across the full spectrum of intellectual property services, demonstrating profound expertise and exceptional execution in areas ranging from trademark and patent prosecution, portfolio management, and strategic planning to handling complex dispute resolution and litigation cases.

    In the individual rankings, two partners of NTD were selected. Christopher Shen was selected for the “Hall of Fame” in both Non-contentious and Contentious practices, and was also listed as an “Outstanding” individual in the Contentious practice, highlighting his top-tier professional capabilities and influence across all facets of intellectual property. Meanwhile, Nathan Yang was again recognized as a “Highly Recommended” individual in the Contentious practice, with his exceptional performance in high-stakes IP litigation cases continuing to earn high praise from clients and the market.

    Christopher Shen



    Christopher Shen joined NTD after graduating from Renmin University of China in 1998 and started his profession in intellectual property. Afterwards, Mr. Shen received advanced education in the United States and earned a LL.M. degree in Intellectual Property Law from the George Washington University Law School. Mr. Shen has been qualified to practice law in both China and New York State since 2000 and 2005 respectively.

     

    Mr. Shen concentrates his practice in IP strategy counseling, foreign-related IP litigation and administrative enforcement. Mr. Shen has nearly 30 years of experience in representing many famous domestic and foreign companies in lawsuits and arbitrations with respect to patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition disputes. Mr. Shen also has been invited to attend International IP Symposiums many times to deliver speeches in respect of China IP Protection and has been establishing extensive connections with foreign IP attorneys.

     

    Mr. Shen has received numerous honors during his career, such as 2025 Chambers and Partners ranked lawyer for “Intellectual Property: Litigation” in Greater China Region, WIPR Leaders 2024, WIPR Insights Trademarks Rankings 2023 (China) Senior Statesperson and Outstanding Individual on Contentious field, WTR 1000 Recommended Individual every year from 2019 to 2025, Trade Mark Star every year from 2022 to 2025 by IP STARS, Thought Leader (individuals who have performed especially well, around 25-30% of listed practitioners) on Trademarks in China by Who's Who Legal every Year from 2009 to 2024, Top 100 IP Experts (China) every year from 2021 to 2022, the Directory of National Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Response and Guidance Experts issued by CNIPA In 2019, Top 50 IP Leading Individuals 2018-2019 by IPLEAD and IPRdaily.

    Nathan Yang



    Nathan Yang graduated from the University of University of International Business and Economy with a Master of Law in 2008, and then joined NTD to engage in intellectual property legal services. Later, he went to Chicago-Kent College of Law and earned LLM degree.

     

    Mr. Yang focuses on Trademark, anti-unfair competition, copyright, litigation and administrative enforcement, arbitration, investigation, customs detention, contract and negotiation, domain name dispute resolution, enterprise IP strategy and general legal consultancy.

     

    The cases represented by Mr. Yang have successively won such honors as 2021 Best International Legal Service Cases by Beijing Bar Association, 2021 TOP litigation cases by Beijing Trademark Association, Sichuan Court Top 10 IP cases in 2020, Henan Court Top 10 IP cases in 2014, 2014 TOP 10 IP cases with the highest public attention, and National Excellent Trademark Cases Awards in 2015 elected by China Trademark Agency Association. He was selected as the World Trademark Review Recommended Individual 2023, 2021 China Excellent IP Lawyers TOP 50, 2021 Talent International Lawyers by Beijing Bar Association, and the 2019 -2022 Excellent Lawyer of Beijing Xicheng District.

     

    Mr. Yang has been interviewed by NPR about Trump's trademark protection in China, and by CCTV2 and CNR about bad faith filings and geographical indication protection.
