At the end of April, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) issued the white book on 2009 IP Protection in China, which made a thorough and complete introduction of the achievement and progress made in 2009 in China.
According to the white book, 2009 was considered a critical year for the implementation of China national IP strategy. In spite of the global financial difficulties, efforts had been made to implement the national IP strategy and promote the development of intellectual property. As a result, more progress was made in IP legislation. The capabilities of IP examination and approval have been improved. The administrative enforcement of IP was upgraded and the roles of judicial organs in protecting IP were further strengthened. In addition, progress was made in areas such as the dissemination of IP information, training and international cooperation.
The white book is divided into 8 chapters to give a detailed explanation of what has been made in the year 2009.
