It is learnt from the 107th Canton Fair that, Ministry of Commerce of the PRC (MOC) will make more efforts to help Chinese enterprises to improve the awareness for IPR protection and create a favorable environment for Chinese enterprises in attending the overseas exhibitions.
Since the beginning of 2009, related Chinese departments have taken series of measures, including setting up service stations at the exhibition to provide consultation and mediation services for Chinese enterprises, cooperating with IPR enforcement agencies to create a favorable environment for Chinese enterprise.
MOC and relevant agencies also work with the organizing agencies for overseas exhibitions to establish a long and effective cooperative mechanism for IP protection. And a platform is therefore formed for Chinese enterprises to attend the exhibitions. Additionally, the enterprises are trained to set up a system to administer the exhibits to have a high sense of IP rights.
As a frequent country for international exhibitions, Chinese enterprises have had a lot of trouble in IP areas due to the weak awareness of the IP protection. They have been the targets of IP rightholders at the international or national exhibitions. It is therefore believed that measures by MOC can improve the situation and further help the Chinese enterprises to have a strong awareness for others'IP rights.
